First baseman Fred Tenney lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and Charlie Chech
pitched a complete game as the red-hot St. Louis-AL Browns defeated the
Washington Nationals by the score of 5 to 2 at American League Park.

The game started off with St. Louis-AL taking the lead in the first when they
came up with 2 runs on 4 hits.  The highlight belonged to Hobe Ferris who
disappointed the partisan crowd when he singled which was good for two runs.
St. Louis-AL banged out 11 hits on the afternoon.  

Chech(3-0) got the victory, allowing 2 runs for the game. Andy Coakley(4-2)
suffered the loss.  He pitched 9 innings giving up 11 hits and 3 walks.
