Warren Spahn allowed Gordy Renaud to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game
as the Washington Nationals bested the Cleveland Indians 5 to 1 at Griffith
Stadium.

Washington came up with 4 runs in the 6th inning with the help of 3 hits.  The
key at-bat was by Ken Keltner who made the home-town crowd a happy bunch when
he rifled a three-run blast.  The game was a scoreless duel until the 6th
inning.  

Spahn(3-1) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 1 run. Elmer
Riddle(2-1) was the loser.  He allowed 4 runs and 5 hits in 7 innings.
