Johnny Wyrostek had 4 hits as the Chicago-NL Cubs bested the struggling
Washington Nationals in 10 innings 5 to 4 at Wrigley Field.

The score was knotted at 4 after nine innings.  Chicago-NL ended up winning it
in the 10th inning.  Duke Snider reached on an error.  After an out was
recorded, Pee Wee Reese stepped in and he banged out a single.  Reese took
second on the throw.  Wyrostek then lashed a single resulting in a mighty
exciting win for Chicago-NL and the 9,312 home town fans in attendance.
Overall Chicago-NL out-hit Washington 13 to 7.  

Clem Labine(2-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 inning and allowing no
runs. Bill Werle(0-1) took the loss in relief.
