Center fielder Irv Noren had 2 base hits and Bob Lemon completed the game
without help from the bullpen as the Philadelphia-AL Athletics bested the
Brooklyn Dodgers 8 to 2 at Connie Mack Stadium.

Brooklyn was unable to claim the lead after Philadelphia-AL went ahead in the
4th inning when they came up with 2 runs on 3 hits.  The big moment was
provided by Lemon who brought the crowd to their feet when he tripled scoring
two baserunners.  Philadelphia-AL finished with 12 hits in the victory.

The victory was credited to Lemon(5-2) who went the distance, allowing 2 runs.
Art Fowler(2-2) ended up with the loss.  He was touched for 9 hits and 2
walks in 6 innings.  

With this win, Philadelphia-AL has a 19-16 record. They have been 6-4 lately.
Brooklyn continued their losing ways and their record is now 11-20.  They are
