Cannonball Titcomb pitched a complete game and second baseman Danny Richardson
homered and had 3 RBI as the New York Giants bested the Chicago White
Stockings 14 to 6 at West Side Park.

Richardson provided the offensive punch.  He laced a one-base hit in the 4th
inning, doubled scoring a run in the 5th inning and cleared the fences for a
two-run home run in the 6th inning.  The New York offense poured it on,
scoring in 7 of the 9 innings.  

Titcomb(5-1), allowing 6 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Mark
Baldwin(1-4) suffered the loss.  He allowed 3 homeruns in 9 innings of work.
