Catcher Wilbert Robinson hit for the cycle and had 6 RBI as the Philadelphia
Athletics destroyed the Brooklyn Gladiators by a score of 21 to 1 at League
Park.

Robinson had a big day at the plate.  He ripped a one-base hit knocking in a
run in the 2nd inning, tripled scoring a run in the 3rd inning, doubled which
scored a run in the 4th inning, doubled bringing home two baserunners in the
5th inning and clubbed a solo home run in the 7th inning.  Philadelphia lit
up the scoreboard in the 3rd inning which saw them plate 4 runs on 4 hits,
the 4th inning when they had 4 runs on 4 hits and the 5th inning which saw
them score 7 runs on 3 hits.  The Philadelphia offense poured it on, scoring
in 7 of the 9 innings.  

The win went to Sadie McMahon(6-3) who allowed 1 run in 8 and 2/3 innings.
Charlie McCullough(0-8) was the losing pitcher.  Philadelphia scored big
getting 10 runs off him in 3 and 2/3 innings.  

Robinson was jubilant after the game 'Let me see a box-score' he joked, 'I
want to see how that game looks on paper.'
