Frank Foreman was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game and John Reilly had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the Cincinnati
Reds rallied impressively to win in dramatic style over reeling Pittsburg
Alleghenys, 8 to 7.

Cincinnati scored the decisive runs in a big 9th inning scoring 3 runs
utilizing 3 base hits.  Jonah Knight led off and keyed the rally when he
lashed a single.  Bill Sowders then had one get away for a wild pitch.  Tony
Mullane then drew a walk.  After an out was recorded, Hugh Nicol came to bat
and stroked a one-base hit knocking in a run.  One out later, Lefty Marr
stepped up to the plate and he delivered a base-hit plating another run.  Bug
Holliday added to the outburst and reached on an error resulting in a mighty
exciting win for Cincinnati and the 1,745 home town fans in attendance.  Both
teams finished the game with 11 hits.  

Foreman(5-0), allowing 7 runs for the game, picked up the victory. The loss
was charged to Sowders(2-2).  He got hit hard, allowing 11 hits and 2 walks
in 8 and 2/3 innings.  

'What a win!', Foreman said.  'These are the kind of games that stand out in
your mind at the end of a season.'
