Gus Weyhing had a complete game as the Philadelphia Phillies topped the
Cincinnati Reds by a score of 3 to 1 at League Park.

Weyhing(4-4) looked very much in control throughout the day.  He allowed just
5 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings improving his ERA from 2.03 to 1.73.
Philadelphia finished with just 6 hits in the victory.  

Ice Box Chamberlain(3-4) ended up with the loss.  He gave up just 3 runs and 6
hits in 9 innings.  The win by Philadelphia is a very welcome one as they
have been struggling in recent days.  Their record now stands at 11-11 - only
2-8 in their last ten games.  With the loss, the Cincinnati ballclub's record
is 13-9.
