TEAM RISP- Orioles: 9 for 27 Browns: 1 for 4

Bill Hoffer had a strong outing at Robison Field as the Baltimore Orioles
embarrassed the St. Louis Browns by the lopsided score of 12 to 1.

Baltimore jumped on top to stay in the top of the 3rd inning when they came up
with 3 runs on 5 hits. That early scoring held up. Baltimore kept the
scorekeepers busy in the 9th inning which saw them score 4 runs on 4 hits.
Baltimore had many opportunities throughout the game and scored in 6 separate
innings.

Hoffer(6-1), allowing 1 run for the game, picked up the victory. Red
Donahue(0-2) absorbed the loss. He got hit hard, allowing 20 hits and 3
walks in 8 and 1/3 innings.

Tommy Dowd lamented, 'Hoffer was really aggressive today. He kept coming
after our hitters. Heck, why not. he kept sitting our guys down one after
another - like so many bowling pins!'
