Philadelphia-AL came up with the deciding runs in the top of the 9th inning when they scored 4 runs on 4 hits. The critical plate appearance was by Andy Pafko who deflated the mood of the partisan fans when he smashed a two-run homer. Philadelphia-AL finished with 9 hits in the victory. The winning pitcher was Sam Zoldak(2-1) who allowed 1 run in 1/3 of an inning. Luis Aloma gained credit for his 7th save. Frank Hiller(1-1) was charged with the loss in relief. 'The only way this one could have been better', said Zoldak, 'was if we had played it at home.'
