Pittsburgh Pirates staged a comeback win over the Chicago-NL Cubs by the
count of 6 to 5.

Pittsburgh had the winning rally in the bottom of the 9th inning as they
scored 4 runs on 4 base hits. The critical plate appearance was by Don
Mueller who excited the crowd when he banged out a single bringing in two
baserunners. Pittsburgh rapped out 11 hits for the afternoon.

Ellis Kinder(1-0) went 2 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Bob
Miller(1-2) was given the loss in relief. Andy Spector was ebullient after
the game, 'It's great to win a hard fought game like that. Our guys just
weren't going to be denied. And did you see the fans - they were going wild!
Yes sir, a very enjoyable win this afternoon!'
