WEB GEMS- Bot 1st: Bill Coughlin robbed Cy Seymour of a base hit.

Cy Seymour connected with a 'big fly' and had 4 RBI at Oriole Park where the
Baltimore Orioles beat the Washington Senators by the score of 19 to 12.

The Baltimore fans enjoyed the offense provided by Seymour. He tripled
plating a run in the 2nd inning, laced a single which scored a run in the 6th
inning and hit a bases-empty home run in the 8th inning. Baltimore provided
plenty of action in the 2nd inning which saw them plate 7 runs on 7 hits and
the 3rd inning when they had 4 runs on 5 hits. The Baltimore offense smacked
the Washington pitching staff around, scoring in 7 of the 9 innings.

The victory was credited to Long Tom Hughes(4-2) who went 7 and 1/3 innings,
allowing 12 runs. Bill Carrick(2-1) was the loser. By giving up 8 runs in 1
and 2/3 innings his ERA increased from 2.84 to 5.33.
