Johnny Sain went the distance and he collected 2 extra-base hits and had 3 RBI
as the blistering-hot Boston Red Sox beat the struggling Pittsburgh Pirates
by a score of 10 to 4.

Boston came up with 4 runs in the 2nd inning when they had 4 base hits.  The
critical plate appearance was by Sain who came through for the home fans when
he tripled bringing in two baserunners.  Boston banged out 14 hits on the
afternoon.  

Sain(7-1) was the winner allowing 4 runs for the game. Early Wynn(0-3) was hit
with the loss.  He was unable to control the Boston offense and allowed 13
hits and 3 walks in 6 innings.  

Boston added another win to their mounting winning streak.
