It was a real barn-burner day in Crosley Field as Philadelphia-AL Athletics
finally pulled ahead to stay, winning a very exciting game by a
Philadelphia-AL Athletics to 10 score.
Herm Wehmeier(1-1) struggled at times, but was good enough to get the victory.
He gave up 8 hits and 4 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings. Cincinnati threatened
in the 9th but Philadelphia-AL was able to put down the rally.
Dutch Leonard earned his 1st save. Preacher Roe(2-6) was tagged with the
loss. He allowed Philadelphia-AL 8 runs in 5 innings of work. 'I didn't
have my best stuff but sometimes you just get lucky,' Wehmeier said, 'this
was one of those times.'
