Jim Delsing lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 3 RBI as the Cincinnati
Reds beat the ice-cold Washington Nationals by a score of 13 to
8.

Cincinnati started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of
the first when they tallied 2 runs on 1 hit. The crucial at-bat was provided
by Ted Kluszewski who deflated the crowd as he blasted a two-run home run.
The Cincinnati offense man-handled the Washington pitching staff as they
scored in 7 of the 9 innings.

The win was credited to Warren Hacker(3-1) who went 7 and 1/3 innings allowing
5 runs. Ernie Johnson recorded his 9th save. Don Larsen(2-4) absorbed the
loss. He served up 3 gopher balls in 8 innings.

The Cincinnati ballclub's record now stands at 22-15. Gordy Renaud was
unhappy with his club's recent performance. 'We can't keep losing games' he
said. 'It gets to be embarrassing after a while.'
