In a tight game it was the St. Louis-AL Browns 7, the Philadelphia-AL
Athletics 5 at Shibe Park.

St. Louis-AL scored 5 runs in the decisive 7th inning when they had 6 base
hits.  The crucial at-bat was provided by Jimmy Austin who silenced the
stadium when he doubled bringing in two baserunners.  St. Louis-AL had 12
hits for the game and Philadelphia-AL had 8.  

The victory was credited to Ed Walsh(3-4) who went 8 innings, allowing 5 runs.
Hank Robinson earned the save, his 7th.  Joe Benz(0-1) was the losing pitcher
in relief.  He was knocked around, surrendering 5 runs in 2 innings.
