Boston Red Sox topped the St. Louis Cardinals by a score of 8 to 3 at Fenway
Park.

Ralph Branca(3-1) pitched well enough to earn the win.  He went 5 innings
allowing 6 hits and 3 walks.  Overall Boston out-hit St. Louis 14 to 7.

Tommy Byrne recorded the save, his 1st.  Vic Raschi(1-2) was the losing
pitcher.  For Boston, it was just another victory in their mounting winning
streak.
