The Pittsburgh Pirates edged the Washington Nationals at Griffith Stadium by
the score of 8 to 7.

Early Wynn(1-1) pitched in relief and was credited with the victory.  He went
2 innings allowing 3 hits and 1 walk.  Washington had a chance in the 9th but
they came up short.  

Eddie Erautt was credited with his 1st save.  Bob Feller(3-4) was charged with
the loss.  Pittsburgh scored big getting 8 runs off him in 6 and 1/3 innings.
