Mel Parnell shut down the Cincinnati batters on just 2 hits and left fielder
Minnie Minoso collected 3 extra-base hits and had 5 RBI as the New York-AL
Yankees smashed the overmatched Cincinnati Reds, 13 to 0.

Minoso had a great evening at the plate. He tripled scoring a run in the 1st
inning, doubled bringing in a run in the 6th inning and tripled scoring two
baserunners in the 9th inning. New York-AL had 15 hits for the night.

Parnell(4-2) went the distance for the shutout. Vern Bickford(3-3) suffered
the loss. He allowed 10 hits and 6 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings.

Minoso said, 'It was just all timing. I had pretty good rhythm at the plate
tonight. You've got to take advantage of mistakes when you can. A couple
pitches were definitely up a little bit - right in my zone.'
