Shortstop Al Dark smacked 2 triples and had 2 RBI at Forbes Field where the
Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Brooklyn Dodgers 4 to 1.

In the 6th inning Pittsburgh scored 2 runs when they had 3 base hits.  After
two outs Jim Finigan started the rally when he ripped a single.  Dark came to
the plate and tripled knocking in a run.  Ruben Gomez then drew a walk.  Don
Mueller came up and he ripped a one-base hit scoring the final run of the
inning.  Pittsburgh out-hit Brooklyn for the game, 10 hits to 5.  

The winning pitcher was Gomez(7-2) who allowed 1 run in 7 innings. Gomez got
help from Jack Harshman who earned his 3rd save.  Allie Reynolds(1-3) was
given the loss.  He gave up 3 runs and 8 hits in 6 innings.
