Bobby Mathews tossed a complete game at Kekionga Grounds where the Fort Wayne
Kekiongas beat the Washington Olympics by the score of 9 to 6.

In the bottom of the 3rd inning Fort Wayne went on top for good when they
tallied 2 runs on 2 hits. Washington made it exciting in the 9th, but they
were unable to push the needed runs across.

Mathews(3-0) was the winner allowing 6 runs for the game. The loss was charged
to Asa Brainard(2-1). He was knocked around, surrendering 9 runs in 8
innings.

'You have to give Washington credit, they fought us tough to the end' Bill
Lennon said. 'It could have gone either way, but I'm glad we pulled out the
victory.'
