Dick Burns whiffed 13 batters at Bank Street Grounds as the Cincinnati Outlaw
Reds pulled off a dramatic comeback beating the Boston Reds by the count of 7
to 6.
Cincinnati scored the decisive runs in a big bottom of the 9th inning plating
2 runs using 3 hits. John Kelly started the inning off right when he
doubled, and an error was also committed, scoring a single run. Dan O'Leary
stepped into the batter's box and he hit a single, and an error was also
committed. Martin Powell then reached on an error. Powell stole second with
some aggressive base running. Ri Jones stepped into the box and ripped a
base-knock resulting in an exciting win for Cincinnati and a wild post-game
celebration by the home town fans. The score went back-and-forth with the
lead changing 5 times.
Burns(6-2) was the winner allowing 6 runs for the game. Tommy Bond(7-3) was
charged with the loss. 'Now that is what I call fun! I just love baseball,
