Barney Pelty hurled a 6 hitter at Huntington Ave Grnds as the St. Louis Browns
beat the reeling Boston Americans in 12 innings 3 to 2.

The score was tied at 2 after nine.  St. Louis was victorious in the 12th
inning.  After an out was recorded, Roy Hartzell laced a single.  One out
later, George Stone came up and he was walked intentionally.  Bobby Wallace
then laced a one-base hit scoring the run.  St. Louis took care of Boston
with no trouble in the bottom of the 12th.  

The victory was credited to Pelty(2-1) who went the distance, allowing 2 runs.
Len Swormstedt(0-1) took the loss in relief.  

'He had his 'A' game today,' Jimmy McAleer said of Pelty.  'Very impressive
performance.'
