Eddie Cicotte tossed a complete game and Ed Konetchy had 2 base hits and 2 RBI
at Griffith Stadium where the Washington Nationals beat the New York-NL
Giants 6 to 3.

Washington scored the decisive runs in a big 8th inning scoring 3 runs on 3
base hits.  Heinie Wagner got things going when he laced a base-hit.  Two
outs later Rebel Oakes stepped in and he reached on an error.  Herbie Moran
then doubled knocking home two runners.  Oscar Stanage came up and he laced a
one-base hit scoring the final run of the inning.  New York-NL proved to be
no trouble in the 9th.  

Cicotte(2-2), allowing 3 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Jack
Powell(2-5) was hit with the loss.  He pitched 7 and 2/3 innings giving up 9
hits and no walks.

With this win, Washington has a 17-15 record.  They have been 5-5 lately.  New
York-NL has a record of 14-18, worst in the division after the loss.
