Dutch Leonard allowed Rob Hickok to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game
and left fielder Enos Slaughter collected 3 extra-base hits and had 2 RBI at
Griffith Stadium where the Cincinnati Reds beat the Washington Nationals by
the score of 9 to 3.

Cincinnati took the lead off Joe Coleman in the first inning scoring 2 runners
on 3 hits. Cincinnati managed 14 hits in their victory.

Leonard(2-2) got the victory, allowing 3 runs for the game. Coleman(2-5) was
given the loss. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 8 hits and 5

'Ahhh, how sweet it is,' Rob Hickok sighed. 'That win feels like a tall, cool
drink of water after spending far too much time in the desert lately.'
