The New York Yankees had an easy time of it at Forbes Field defeating the
Pittsburgh Pirates by a score of 11 to 4.

New York brought 6 runs across the plate in the 4th inning with the help of 5
hits.  The critical plate appearance was by Al Dark who quieted the home
crowd when he lined a base-hit bringing in two baserunners.  Ken Heintzelman
earned the save with a perfect ninth, his 3rd save.  

Ned Garver(3-3) went 6 innings allowing 3 runs for the win. Al Brazle(1-4) was
hit with the loss.  He was knocked around by New York, allowing 8 hits and 3
walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.
