Anderson had a big day with his bat. He belted a three-run homer in the 1st inning, lined a single in the 3rd inning, laced a one-base hit which plated a run in the 4th inning, doubled in the 6th inning and doubled in the 8th inning. Cincinnati was out-hit by Philadelphia-NL, 15 hits to 8. Lundgren(3-3) was the winner allowing no runs in 6 innings. The right-handed Lundgren had his no-hit bid broken up by Ed Abbaticchio who singled with one out in the 6th inning. Christy Mathewson(6-5) was hit with the loss.
