TEAM RISP- Browns: 4 for 16 Cubs: 5 for 19

Hobe Ferris had 3 base hits and Ed Reulbach went the distance as the St.
Louis-AL Browns outscored the Chicago-NL Cubs 6 to 5.

St. Louis-AL scored 3 runs in the 7th inning when they came up with 3 base
hits. After two outs Spike Shannon was the sparkplug when he reached on an
error. Harry Steinfeldt stepped up to the plate and he slapped a single.
Ferris then hit a single knocking in a run. Harry Bemis was up next and he
ripped a one-base hit scoring one more run. Reulbach stepped into the box
and reached on an error scoring the final run of the inning. Chicago-NL made
it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.

The win went to Reulbach(8-2) who allowed 5 runs in the game. Eddie Plank(3-1)
suffered the loss. He got hammered, allowing 11 hits and 4 walks in 8
innings.

Lee Palmer was clearly disappointed after the game. 'It was a manager's
nightmare out there', he said, 'We should have had this one.'
