Third baseman George Moriarty had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the Washington
Nationals outscored the Brooklyn Dodgers 6 to 4.

Washington scored the decisive runs in a big 8th inning scoring 2 runs using 2
hits.  Larry Doyle led off and keyed the rally when he reached on an error.
Fred Clarke came next and he ripped a base-knock.  Two outs later Clyde Engle
came to the plate and drew a walk to load the bases.  Moriarty stepped in and
he slapped a base-hit knocking home two runners.  Washington had just 6 hits
for the afternoon.  

The win was credited to Bugs Raymond(5-1) who went 7 innings allowing 4 runs.
Smoky Joe Wood gained credit for his 4th save.  The losing pitcher was Lew
Moren(2-6).  He was the victim of a defensive lapse and did not allow an
earned run in the game.  

The Washington ballclub's record now stands at a division leading 23-14.
Brooklyn has a record of 18-19 after the loss.
