Joe Lake had a complete game at Sportsman's Park as the St. Louis Browns beat
the Washington Nationals 10 to 5.

St. Louis jumped on top to stay in the bottom of the 4th inning as they scored
3 runs on 4 base hits.  The critical plate appearance was by Paul Meloan who
came through for the home fans when he ripped a base-knock bringing in two
baserunners.  St. Louis totaled 15 hits on the afternoon.  

Lake(3-3) got the victory, allowing 5 runs for the game. Dolly Gray(1-2) was
charged with the loss.  He was touched for 15 hits and 5 walks in 7 innings.

St. Louis now has a record of 13-15.  With the loss Washington now has a
record of 9-16.
