TEAM RISP- Reds: 3 for 13 Phillies: 0 for 10

Jesse Duryea allowed Tom Loftus to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game
as the Philadelphia Phillies were badly beaten by the Cincinnati Reds, 11 to
1.

The game started off with Cincinnati taking the lead in the first when they
came up with 3 runs on 1 hit. That early scoring was all that Duryea(5-2)
needed. Cincinnati had 10 hits for the afternoon.

Tom Vickery(5-2) took the loss. Cincinnati scored big getting 11 runs off him
in 8 and 2/3 innings. No one has been able to stop Cincinnati lately as they
lengthened their winning streak to 6 games. Harry Wright was upset but
philosophical about the loss. 'Sometimes you run into a team that's on a
roll. This was one of those times.'
