Jack Easton(5-4) was on top of his game in Rochester as he tossed a beauty of a no-hitter against the Rochester Broncos. The Columbus Solons won by a score of 7 to 0. Easton had his best stuff and was 'painting the black' with every pitch. A beautiful game to watch. He had excellent control, walking only one. The tension built to a fever pitch. After the 8th inning everybody in the ballpark was anticipating what would happen in the 9th. Columbus rapped out 9 hits for the afternoon. The losing pitcher was Bob Barr(4-4). He surrendered 9 hits and 6 walks in 9 innings. What a show!' Al Buckenberger said. 'Easton was great out there -- I'm happy that he got it.'
