TEAM RISP- Beaneaters: 4 for 8 Cubs: 0 for 7

Charlie Hickman had 4 hits and 4 RBI and Lefty Leifield was able to finish
what he started and was credited with a complete game at West Side Park as
the Boston-NL Beaneaters beat the Chicago-NL Cubs by the count of 7 to
1.

Hickman was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine day
at their team's expense. He bombed a two-run dinger in the 1st inning,
singled plating a run in the 2nd inning, lined a one-base hit bringing in a
run in the 4th inning and hit a single in the 7th inning. Neither team
managed to score after the 4th inning.

The victory went to Leifield(5-2) who went the distance allowing 1 run. The
losing pitcher was Doc Scanlan(1-5). He was touched for 7 hits and 4 walks
in 3 innings.
