In a good matchup it was the Kansas City Packers 5, the Brooklyn ballclub 3 at
Federal League Park.

Kansas City scored 2 runs in the decisive 2nd inning with the help of 3 hits.
They would hold up as the winning runs. Brooklyn threatened in the 9th but
Kansas City was able to put down the rally.

Chief Johnson(4-3) got the win allowing 3 runs in 8 and 2/3 innings. Alex Main
preserved the game for Johnson, recording his his 1st save. Tom Seaton(5-3)
was hit with the loss. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 11
hits and 2 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.

Lee Magee was in a contemplative mood after the tough loss, 'It is really hard
to lose this kind of a game. It may seem weird to some, but it is easier to
take the occasional blow-out loss. It is the ones that just barely get away
that hurt so much - like this one!'
