Cleveland Indians broke the deadlock in their last at bats, pulling out a 5
to 4 win over the New York-AL Yankees and sending their hometown fans home
smiling.

The game was won by Cleveland when they scored a run in the bottom of the 9th
inning.  Dale Long lined a single.  Randy Jackson was next and he laid down a
sacrifice bunt.  Gene Stephens then smacked a single.  Frank House followed
next and he was walked intentionally to load the bases.  George Kell stepped
into the box and laced a one-base hit giving Cleveland the victory as 7,830
happy fans celebrated wildly.  Cleveland had 11 hits overall, while New
York-AL had 6.  

Sandy Consuegra(2-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 1/3 of an inning and
allowing no runs. Jim Wilson(2-4) suffered the loss.  He pitched 8 and 1/3
innings giving up 9 hits and 1 walk.
