Second baseman Dick Phelan had 2 base hits and 2 RBI and Bill Sweeney went the
distance as the Baltimore Monumentals outscored the St. Louis Maroons 5 to
4.

The deciding run was scored by Baltimore in the top of the 8th.  Charlie Levis
smacked a single.  Billy Taylor then threw a wild pitch.  Taylor then threw
one that got by the catcher for a passed ball.  Sweeney was the next batter,
but he struck out.  Phelan stepped into the box and ripped a single scoring
the run.  A wild affair, this game saw the lead change 5 times.  

The win was credited to Sweeney(7-4) who went the whole way allowing 4 runs.
The losing pitcher was Taylor(7-1).  He allowed a few too many baserunners
giving up 13 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings.
