WEB GEMS- Top 4th: Bill Gleason robbed Denny Lyons of a base hit.

Dave Foutz was able to finish what he started and was credited with a complete
game and Bill Gleason had 6 hits and 3 RBI as the St. Louis Browns ballclub
embarrassed the Philadelphia Athletics by the count of 20 to 3.

It was a good day for St. Louis thanks to Gleason. He laced a one-base hit
plating a run in the 1st inning, slapped a base-hit which scored a run in the
2nd inning, ripped a single scoring a run in the 3rd inning, ripped a
base-hit in the 4th inning, doubled in the 6th inning and laced a one-base
hit in the 8th inning. St. Louis kept the scorekeepers busy in the 2nd
inning which saw them plate 4 runs on 4 hits and the 3rd inning which saw
them score 6 runs on 6 hits. The St. Louis offense was great, scoring in 7
of the 9 innings.

The win was credited to Foutz(5-3) who went the whole way allowing 3 runs. Al
Atkinson(3-2) was hit with the loss. He was touched for 23 hits and 4 walks
in 8 innings.
