Frank Schulte had 2 base hits and 4 RBI as the Chicago Cubs outscored the
Brooklyn Superbas 10 to 5.

Brooklyn was unable to claim the lead after Chicago went ahead in the bottom
of the 3rd inning with 3 runs on 4 base hits.  After an out was recorded,
Frank Chance keyed the rally when he stroked a single.  Harry Steinfeldt next
to the plate and he ripped a base-hit.  Solly Hofman then lined a single
knocking in a run.  After another out, Jimmy Archer came to bat and was
walked intentionally to load the bases.  Jack Pfiester came to the plate and
stroked a one-base hit which was good for two more runs.  Chicago had many
opportunities throughout the game and scored in 6 separate innings.

Pfiester(2-1) went 6 innings allowing 5 runs for the victory. Pfiester got
help from Big Jeff Pfeffer who earned his 1st save.  Cy Barger(1-4) suffered
the loss.  He was unable to control the Chicago offense and allowed 12 hits
and 9 walks in 8 innings.
