Billy Rhines tossed a complete game as the Cincinnati Reds bested the
Philadelphia Phillies 6 to 2 at League Park.
Cincinnati drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning
scoring one runner. Cincinnati and Philadelphia each finished the afternoon
with 9 hits.
Rhines(4-0) allowed 2 runs on the game. The losing pitcher was Jack
Taylor(4-3). 'Wow. That's about all I can think to say.' said Buck Ewing
following the victory. 'If ever a team needed a win, it was us.'
