Dick Padden collected 2 extra-base hits and had 4 RBI and Dan McFarlan went
the distance as the Washington Senators defeated the Pittsburg Pirates by the
score of 8 to 6 at Boundary Field.

Padden enjoyed a fine day at the plate. He laced a single scoring a run in the
2nd inning, tripled plating a run in the 5th inning and doubled bringing in
two baserunners in the 7th inning.  Although they lost, Pittsburg did out-hit
Washington 15 to 10.  

McFarlan(2-3) allowed 6 runs on the game. Bill Hoffer(1-5) was hit with the
loss.  'He gutted it out' Arthur Irwin said of McFarlan.  'I was very
impressed by his tenacity.'
