Sherry Magee had 3 base hits and 2 RBI at West Side Park where the
Philadelphia Phillies beat the Chicago Cubs in 10 innings by the score of 6
to 5.

Both teams were tied at 5 runs apiece after nine innings. Philadelphia won it
in the 10th inning.  After an out was recorded, Magee lined a single.  Magee
stole second with some aggressive base running.  After another out, Kitty
Bransfield was walked intentionally.  Mickey Doolin followed next and he
laced a base-knock scoring the run.  Doolin took second on the throw.
Chicago could do no damage in the bottom of the 10th.  

The win went to Lew Richie(1-1) who allowed no runs in 3 innings. Bob
Wicker(3-6) was the loser.  Wth the win Philadelphia now has a record of
18-14.  The loss by Chicago interrupted a nice 8-2 recent run.
