St. Louis had the game winning rally in the bottom of the 9th inning with 2 runs on 3 hits. After two were out Dode Criss got things rolling when he tripled. Danny Hoffman followed next and he laced a one-base hit, and an error was also committed, plating a run. Hap Myers then ripped a base-knock, and an error was also committed, giving St. Louis the win and sending the home town fans into a frenzy. Despite scoring in 5 separate innings, New York could not get the win. Bill Bailey(1-1) went 1 inning allowing 1 run for the win. Ray Caldwell(2-5) was charged with the loss in relief.
