In a thriling finish the Cincinnati Reds pulled off the win over the
Philadelphia-AL Athletics by a score of 3 to 2 at Palace of the
Fans.

Cincinnati scored the deciding run in the 9th inning.  Eddie Grant stroked a
base-hit.  Bill Carrigan followed and he laid down a sacrifice bunt.  Hal
Chase then lashed a single.  Josh Devore stepped in and he would hit into a
fielders choice resulting in an exciting win for Cincinnati and a wild
post-game celebration by the home town fans.  Cincinnati rapped out 7 hits
for the afternoon.  

The win was credited to Bugs Raymond(4-0) who went 2/3 of an inning allowing
no runs. Barney Pelty(1-1) took the loss in relief.  He surrendered 2 hits
and no walks in 1/3 of an inning.
