WEB GEMS- Top 9th: Jack Graney robbed Eddie Ainsmith of an extra base hit.

Right fielder Ted Easterly had 6 hits and 2 RBI and Spec Harkness went the
distance as the Cleveland Naps ballclub embarrassed the Washington Nationals
by the count of 16 to 4.

Easterly helped send the fans home happy. He singled in the 1st inning,
tripled which plated a run in the 2nd inning, stroked a one-base hit
resulting in a run in the 5th inning, lashed a single in the 6th inning,
stroked a base-hit in the 7th inning and smacked a single in the 8th inning.
Cleveland bats were hot in the 1st inning when they had 4 runs on 4 hits, the
5th inning with 4 runs on 6 hits and the 6th inning which saw them plate 4
runs on 6 hits. Cleveland managed 24 hits in their victory.

The win was credited to Harkness(2-1) who went the whole way allowing 4 runs.
Dolly Gray(1-3) was the loser. He was touched for 21 hits and 4 walks in 6
and 1/3 innings.

'After the stretch we have been through lately, this victory is especially
sweet' offered George Stovall. Now, we just have to make this the norm - not
the exception!'
