Pete Alexander had a complete game at Polo Grounds as the New York-NL Giants
pulled off a dramatic comeback beating the Chicago-NL Cubs by the count of 4
to 3.

New York-NL had the winning rally in the 9th inning plating 2 runs using 4
hits. Larry Gardner led off and keyed the rally when he stroked a base-hit.
Steve O'Neill was the next batter, but he struck out. Danny Moeller then
lined a single. One out later, Bob Bescher came to the plate and reached on
an error. Miller Huggins stepped into the box and ripped a one-base hit
bringing in a run. Ty Cobb added to the rally and ripped a single giving New
York-NL the win and sending the home town fans into a frenzy. New York-NL
rapped out 11 hits for the afternoon.

The win went to Alexander(5-4) who allowed 3 runs in the game. Eddie
Plank(0-6) absorbed the loss. He was unable to control the New York-NL
offense and allowed 11 hits and 2 walks in 8 and 2/3 innings.

'Now that is what I call fun! I just love baseball, especially games like
this, of course,' Brian Capsello offered. 'Everyone at the stadium had a
great time - did you see the fans go wild there at the end?!'
