The Washington Nationals edged the Boston-AL Red Sox in 14 innings at Fenway
Park by the score of 2 to 1.
The score was knotted at 1 after nine innings. Washington came out on top in
the 14th inning. After two were out Bob Addis reached on an error. Ray
Boone stepped up to the plate and he was walked intentionally. Bobby Young
then laced a single scoring the run. Washington had 10 hits for the
afternoon while Boston-AL had 6.
Chuck Stobbs(1-1) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 4 innings. Harry
Byrd recorded the save, his 6th. Lou Brissie(0-2) was the loser in relief.
