Right fielder Wally Post went yard and had 3 RBI as the Pittsburgh Pirates
defeated the Cincinnati Reds by a score of 11 to 7 at Forbes Field.

Post had a big day at the plate.  He banged out a single in the 1st inning,
launched a three-run homer in the 4th inning and tripled in the 8th inning.
Pittsburgh had 16 hits for the afternoon while Cincinnati had 9.  

The victory was credited to Bob Turley(4-2) who went 7 innings, allowing 6
runs. Willard Schmidt(5-2) was the loser in relief.  He surrendered 1 hit and
2 walks in 2 and 1/3 innings.  

Pittsburgh now has a record of a league leading 20-11.  With the loss, the
Cincinnati ballclub's record is 23-24.
