Deacon White had 4 hits and Al Pratt had a complete game at Association
Grounds as the Cleveland Forest Citys(C) embarrassed the Washington Olympics
by the lopsided score of 23 to 7.

White had a big day at the plate. He banged out a single plating two runs in
the 2nd inning, singled which brought home a run in the 3rd inning, caught a
hold of a fastball for a Grand Slam homerun in the 5th inning and delivered a
base-hit resulting in a run in the 6th inning. Cleveland bats were hot in
the 2nd inning with 7 runs on 4 hits and the 6th inning when they had 6 runs
on 5 hits. Cleveland rapped out 17 hits for the afternoon.

Pratt(2-4), allowing 7 runs for the game, picked up the victory. The loss was
charged to Asa Brainard(3-4). He allowed a few too many baserunners giving
up 17 hits and 3 walks in 8 innings.

'They made a couple of mistakes and I took full advantage,' White said 'next
time I'm sure they'll pitch me tougher.'
