In a great finish the Baltimore Orioles came back in the top of the ninth and
held on to win over the Cleveland Spiders by a score of 7 to 5 at League
Park.

Baltimore scored the decisive runs in a big top of the 9th inning plating 3
runs on 3 base hits. After an out was recorded, Heinie Reitz began the
Baltimore spurt when he lined a one-base hit. Wilbert Robinson stepped into
the batter's box and he tripled which scored a run. Jim Donnelly then ripped
a base-hit bringing in another run. Jack Doyle was up next and he drew a
walk. Boileryard Clarke came up to bat and reached on an error. One out
later, Bobby Wallace then threw one that got by the catcher for a passed ball
scoring the final run of the inning. Baltimore banged out 15 hits on the
afternoon.

The win was credited to Arlie Pond(4-1) who went 8 innings allowing 5 runs.
Dad Clarkson preserved the game for Pond, recording his his 2nd save. Nig
Cuppy(4-2) suffered the loss. He allowed 7 runs and 15 hits in 8 and 1/3
innings.

Patsy Tebeau was not very talkative after his team's tough loss. 'I'm not in
the mood for questions, but I'm sure Ned Hanlon will be glad to talk about
the game as long as you have questions to ask.'
