Walter Johnson completed the game without help from the bullpen and George
McBride had 2 base hits at League Park where the Washington Nationals beat
the Cleveland Naps 2 to 1.

Washington scored 2 runs in the decisive 5th inning when they came up with 3
base hits.  It was enough to earn the victory.  Washington took care of
Cleveland with no trouble in the bottom of the 9th.  

Johnson(2-4) finished the game allowing 1 run in the victory. The losing
pitcher was Addie Joss(2-4).  'Wow.  That's about all I can think to say.'
said Joe Cantillon following the victory.  'If ever a team needed a win, it
was us.'
